John and James McNamara were arrested for the bombing of the Los Angeles Times in 1911 that killed 25 people and injured more than 100. They were militant labor movement members and this rare 1 1/4-inch celluloid from Labor Day 1911 came to John McNamara's defense. Defended by Clarnece Darrow and Job Harriman, the McNamaras eventually pled guilty. James McNamara, who actually planted the bomb, died in prison in 1941: John served nine years before being released.
