J.C.W. Beckham for governor of Kentucky, 7/8-inch celluloid, edge sots. Beckham was William Goebel's running mate in the 1899 Kentucky election. Goebel won, but soon after was assassinated. The legislature swore Goebel in before he died and Lt. Gov. Beckham became governor when Goebel died. That wasn't the end of it -- William Taylor, Goebel's opponent in the election, eventually fled the state and Beckham then won a special election for governor. He later served as a US senator.
