Horace Greeley is one of the great tragedies in presidential history, Chosen to run for president in 1872, by the end of November that year he had lost his newspaper, lost his fortune, his wife died and then Greeley himself had a breakdown and died. Talk about a bad month! The only thing tragic about this spectacular Greeley ferrotype will be if you don’t win it. It’s a very rare 1 inch pinback in superb condition.
