Zachary Taylor the People's Choice Inaugural Ribbon

A rare 1 1/2-inch silk ribbon made for the inauguration of Zachary Taylor on March 5, 1849. Taylor refused to be inaugurated on March 4 because it was a Sunday, so the nation had to wait an extra day to get its new president. This 6 3/4 inch ribbon has some faint stains on bottom half and a couple small spots where the ribbon has thinned. From the Rex Stark collection.
