This proclamation was printed in November of 1861 by the Union Army and carries the name of General John Dix. It's a warning the residents of Northampton Counties, Virginia, that the army is coming and the citizens had better behave. The 9 ¼ by 12-inch paper flyer has a cut at top edge and slight vertical crease at center.
