One of the most sought-after Theodore Roosevelt pins of them all. This iconic 1 3/4 inch celluloid is the TR Huggers pin, named because it shows Uncle Sam giving Roosevelt a big hug on his return home from his African safari. A variety of happy big game animals occupy the ship in the background, apparently glad they are on this ship and not in TR’s trophy case. Beautiful design and color on this wonderful pin that is a must-have item for any great collection. This pin has brought over $10,000 at least four times. Excellent condition, from the Ned Ruhstaller collection. Consignor authorized us to lower minimum bid. As of Tuesday 5 pm, July 25th this pin has the most hits of any item in this sale. It also has more people watching it than any other item in the sale. Who will be the first to bid on this great pin. This is definitely one of my top five favorite political pins!
