When Theodore Roosevelt invited Booker T. Washington to lunch at the White House, it caused an uproar. It was one thing to have African-Americans in the White House as servants, but quite another to ask one to dine as an equal. This iconic 1 1/4 inch celluloid celebrated the event. It has a small spot to the right of TR and few faint spots on curl, but still is very attractive with vibrant colors.
