BAM stood for Black Americans for McCarthy. Eugene McCarthy had a long record as a civil rights supporter, making him popular with black voters. BAM made these 1 3/4-inch celluloids to support Clean Gene, but this one is different. Virtually all of the BAM pins are orange and black -- this one is yellow and black, making it a rare item from 1968. Excellent condition.
