On February 4, 1899, the Battle of Manila, the first major clash of the Philippine-American War, erupted near Manila, Philippines, as Filipino independence fighters, led by Emilio Aguinaldo, clashed with US troops. This 3 1/8-inch bullet is engraved with word “Manila" and the date the insurrection started.
