“Thumbs Up, America” was the 1981 inaugural theme song. This scarce 3-inch celluloid shows Reagan in his famous thumbs-up pose. The curl reads: “Gift of J. William Middendorf II, co-author with Sammy Cohn.” Cahn was a famous songwriter (“High Hopes,” “Let it Snow,” “My Kind of Town,” many others) and Middendorf was ambassador to the Netherlands and Secretary of the Navy. This pin was handed out to a few of Middendorf’s friends. Few small surface bumps. First time we’ve offered this pin.
