Southern Democratic Party candidates John Breckinridge and Joseph Lane on a 1-inch ferrotype. Tarnish on brass portion of Lane side; images are both excellent. Breckinridge was US vice president from 1857-1861, later a Confederate general. Lane was one of the first two senators from Oregon but had pro-southern sympathies. This is the toughest of the group to find.
