The prize campaign pin from Stan Mersand’s Dewey collection. This Tom Dewey for New York District Attorney pin is exceptionally rare – in fact, it’s the only one of its kind we’ve ever seen. Dewey was elected district attorney in 1937 after his famous prosecution of mobsters including Lucky Luciano. As D.A., Dewey successfully prosecuted Tammany Hall boss James Joseph Hines and American Nazi leader Fritz Julius Kuhn on corruption charges. For Pre-presidential collectors this is an incredible pin. This 2 1/4 inch celluloid was the crown jewel of Stan’s Dewey buttons. Excellent. This great pin has been viewed by the third most collectors in this sale.
