The key to the Eisenhower state set. New Jersey for Ike is the hardest pin from the state set to find and so is the most sought after of them all. You can’t get the entire set unless you have this one. It’s a rare 1 1/4 inch celluloid made by the Philadelphia Badge Co. in excellent condition. Rich Trimble of A.G. Trimble knew Gus Miller of Republican National Committee and Trimble believed Gus distributed the state pins to 47 states but Gus, who lived in New Jersey controlled the New Jersey pin. For years in the 1950's and early 1960's Gus was the only source for the New Jersey pins. After he passed away his little group of state pins never showed up. We know there are plenty of people working on Ike sets so consignor lowered minimum to get some bidding interest.
