Arkansas Sen. Joe Robinson is pictured on this Al Smith related pin from 1928. Robinson is best remembered as Smith’s running mate, but he was quite a character in his own right, at times almost getting into brawls with Robert LaFollette and Huey Long. As Senate Majority Leader under FDR he was particularly responsible for getting other southern senators to support New Deal legislation. Rare 4 inch celluloid, excellent.
