We believe this is the very best campaign pin from the 1940 election. It has everything that makes an iconic item: it’s rare, it has some great artwork, it has a creative theme and it even manages to combine baseball and politics. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid is the legendary FDR Out at Third pin that shows Wendell Willkie putting the tag on Franklin Roosevelt at third base. The umpire calls FDR out in his attempt to steal a third term. It’s a spectacular item for Willkie, FDR or general collectors – in short, a pin anyone would be proud to own. Excellent condition. In our first few days far more people checked on this pin than any other. That has continued to this last day. In excellent condition this pin has sold for over $10,000 at least twice and I guess it will again. A final personal comment - this pin was my most wanted item for at least ten years and I was lucky enough to have Pete Redebaugh pry it from the Joe Jacobs' collection and it is certainly among my five most prized pins - AA.
