The R is for Franklin Roosevelt. The O is for Sidney Osborn. The W is for Henry Wallace. This 1940 campaign pin is an Arizona coattail item. Osborn was elected governor of Arizona in 1940 and eventually served four terms, dying in office in 1948 from the effects of Lou Gehrig’s disease. Like FDR he was elected for four terms, the only Arizona governor to achieve that and again like FDR, he died in office. This rare FDR classic is a 1 1/4 inch celluloid, excellent condition.
