What better way to start an auction than with a rare Abraham Lincoln ribbon from 1860? This fantastic ribbon pictures Abe in his pre-beard days. Lincoln didn’t grow that beard until he received a letter just before the election from 11-year-old Grace Bedell of upstate New York suggesting he would look good in one. The ribbon is a 7 1/2 inch item that also includes the name of Abe’s running mate, Hannibal Hamlin of Maine. Spots, but still very attractive.
