August Gillhaus and Donald Munro are pictured on this rare Socialist Labor Party jugate from 1908. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid has a St. Louis Button Co. back paper. Gillhaus wasn’t the SLP’s first choice for president: the original candidate, IWW member Morrie Preston, had an inconvenient roadblock to campaigning: he was serving 25 years in jail for murder. Excellent condition.
