Anderson Auction #221

Lot #28:

Coolidge and "Louden" Rare Jugate

An exceptionally rare Calvin Coolidge 7/8-inch celluloid jugate. It pictures Coolidge with a fellow named "Louden." But if you trace that photo you'll find that "Louden" actually is Frank Lowden of Illinois. Delegates at the 1924 convention nominated Lowden for vice president, but he turned it down. Whitehead and Hoag BP, excellent. We've seen this pin only one other time, and it sold for more than $4,000. Al Anderson collection.
