King and Spock 1968 Jugate

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Dr. Benjamin Spock are pictured on this 1968 celluloid button. King’s work for civil rights and Spock’s opposition to the Vietnam War made them a famous pairing for an alternative political ticket. Actually Peace and Freedom party was proposing them as a ticket. This rare sample 1 3/4 inch celluloid made by Wendell's in Minneapolis has twice brought over $500. The Pin was made before King’s assassination in April of 1968. Excellent condition. Consignor wants to sell so starting price adjusted.
