Debs and Seidel Sepia Jugate

Eugene Debs and Emil Seidel are pictured on this gorgeous 7/8 inch sepia celluloid jugate from 1912. Seidel was mayor of Milwaukee from 1910-1912 (and the first Socialist mayor of a major American city), and was so successful that the Democratic and Republican parties combined to run a single candidate to defeat him in 1912. That year he became Eugene Debs’ running mate for the Socialist Party. Excellent.
