Take a close look at this Wendell Willkie metal license from 1940. It's a classic design that said "The Hope of Our Country." Someone long ago expertly altered it so it says "The Dope of Our Country." You have to give him credit for some painstaking paint work. Lots of rust along edges on this 11 inch license.
