A rare Barack Obama Springfield, Illinois, announcement pin from Feb. 10, 2007. We’ve auctioned two or three Springfield announcement pins with blue borders in the past and both went for more than $400. This is the first time we’ve seen one with a red border. It’s a 3-inch celluloid that was found at a garage sale in Springfield. If you’re looking for a rare pin from the very start of Obama’s astounding run to the presidency, they don’t come any better than this. Excellent.
