William Howard Taft is pictured on this scarce pin made for the opening of the Gunnison Tunnel in Montrose, Colorado. Taft attended the event, which celebrated the completion of the tunnel, which was an engineering marvel. When opened, it was the longest irrigation tunnel in the world. This 5/8 inch celluloid from the Anderson collection has some light edge stains at top and bottom.
