An International Labor Defense (ILD) stamp from the 1930s printed to raise money to support the Scottsboro Boys, nine black youths accused of rape in Alabama. The controversy lasted for years; George Wallace eventually pardoned Clarence Norris, the last of the Scottsboro Boys, in 1976. Norris died in 1989. This 3/4 inch stamp from the 1930s is a scarce item in excellent condition.
