North Carolina for Reagan and Helms

There’s a ticket that would have thrilled ultra conservatives. This celluloid pin from 1980 calls for a GOP presidential ticket of Ronald Reagan and Jesse Helms, the long-time North Carolina senator known for his conservative views. Reagan won the nomination, but he picked the more moderate George Herbert Walker Bush as a running mate. Helms served as senator from 1973-2003. This 2 1/4 inch celluloid has some faint background mottling.
