Old Jeff Davis doesn’t take bad news well. This postal card from 1863 is a 2 3/4 by 6 inch item that has a pull at the bottom. One view shows Davis celebrating after the fall of Fort Sumter in 1961. Pull and the second view shows him feeling much differently after the fall of Fort Sumter in 1863. Card was produced by D.C. Johnston of Boston and says “Postage 3 Cents” on the pull. A remarkable Civil War item in excellent condition.
