When President Grover Cleveland suggested Confederate battle flags that had been captured during the Civil War be returned, a veteran from Ohio asked Gov. J.B. Foraker what he planned to do. Foraker said, “No rebel flags will be surrendered while I am governor.” It made Foraker a hero and he later became a U.S. senator. This 1 1/2 inch medal pictures Foraker on the front and features his famous quote on the back. Excellent condition.
