Here’s the story behind this 1 3/8 inch bronze medal that depicts a fish (Huey Long, the Kingfish) and a fist. Long was at the Sands Point Country Club in New York on Aug.. 26, 1933, and had a bit too much to drink. When he visited the restroom, all the stalls were taken and he ended up relieving himself on the leg of another visitor, who prompts punched Long in the face. The owner of Colliers Magazine raise funds to create a medal to commemorate the event, and thus this medal was born. Great story on a scarce Long item in excellent condition.
