Horace Boies was governor of Iowa from 1890-1894 and was a presidential hopeful in 1896. His last campaign was a loss to B.P. Birdsall in a congressional race in 1902 and we also happen to have a Birdsall pin in this auction (Item 1493). This 1 1/4 inch celluloid with Whitehead and Hoag back paper is a presidential hopeful item, excellent.
