There’s a lot happening on this Chicago political pin from 1915. Mayor Carter Harrison was angling for a sixth term when this 1 3/4 inch celluloid was made. His long-time Democratic rival, Roger Sullivan, was behind the campaign of Robert Sweitzer. And why does the pin show a woman riding Harrison’s horse? Because this was the first Chicago election in which women were allowed to vote. Harrison ended up losing to Sweitzer. Pin has light stain at top. Another great Chicago item from Bob Rouse collection.
