Theodore Roosevelt took to the rails in 1900, traveling across the country by train in an unprecedented campaign as the Republican candidate for vice president. That trip included a stop in Aberdeen, South Dakota. TR had spent time in the Dakotas as a cattle rancher so he felt right at home in Aberdeen. He was greeted there by this 1 1/4 inch celluloid pin, a souvenir from D.C. Gallett, an Aberdeen jeweler and optician. Pin has a D.C. Gallett back paper, excellent condition.
