Fred Warren was the founder of the socialist magazine “Appeal to Reason,” one of the most widely-read periodicals of his day. Warren commissioned Upton Sinclair’s “The Jungle,” later was sent to jail for a story calling for justice in the assassination of Kentucky Gov. William Goebel. This 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 inch postcard called for his release and promoted a book about him. Excellent condition.
