Scarce 1948 Tom Dewey GOP National Convention pin from Philadelphia. Dewey earned his reputation as a racket-busting attorney. In fact, the story is that mobster Dutch Schultz planned to kill Dewey, but fellow mobster Lucky Luciano sent his Murder Inc. hit men to get Schultz before he could get to Dewey. That reformer image followed Dewey to the 1948 convention and to this pin, an excellent 2 1/2 inch celluloid.
Dewey Nominate a Two-Fisted Republican
