The 1908 Democratic National Convention was held in Denver, the first time a convention was held in a western state. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid with wonderful cartoon shows William Jennings Bryan in a newfangled automobile charging across the nation from Denver to Washington – quite a trip in those days. Notice the driver of the car is a woman (the 1908 convention was the second in history with women delegates). This is the very rare black and white version, frankly we do not know of any other black and white examples in existence. Excellent condition.
