Roosevelt, Miles They Made Good New Mexico Coattail

Franklin Roosevelt offers some help to John Miles on this 1938 New Mexico coattail pin. Miles was a relative unknown, nominated to run for governor when pro and anti New Deal factions selected him as a compromise. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid helped him win the general election. He later served a term in Congress before retiring from politics. This pin with St. Louis Button Co. back paper is from the Al Anderson collection, excellent condition.
