That oil refers to the oil from the Teapot Dome scandal, which was a messy thing for the Republican Party. Al Smith was a Democratic Party presidential hopeful and so you couldn’t find any of that nasty oil on him! This 7/8 inch Al Smith celluloid is in excellent condition.
