Rare 1876 jugate picturing Rutherford B. Hayes and running mate William Wheeler. When Hayes was informed Wheeler had been selected to run with him, he said, “I am ashamed to say, who is Wheeler?” He found out soon enough and the two men became good friends. This 7/8 inch pinback with cardboard image is in excellent condition.
