Alton Parker is pictured in his judicial robes on this rare campaign pin from 1897. Parker was elected chief judge of the New York Court of Appeals that year. This 7/8 inch celluloid with National Equipment Co. back paper is from that race. Parker won and seven years later ran for president against Theodore Roosevelt. He lost that one, but later did become president – of the American Bar Association. Excellent.
