Jimmy Carter signed the law that expanded the Redwood National Park. California loggers were so upset they carved a giant redwood peanut and sent it to him in protest. The White House sent it back. The trees sure appreciated Jimmy, though, and this campaign pin proves it. It’s a rare 2 1/4 inch celluloid and is the first “Redwoods for Carter” we’ve been able to offer in the auction. Ronald Reagan received plenty of flack for saying "If you've seen one Redwood, you've seen them all." A very tough 1980 Carter pin. Excellent.
