William “Big Bill” Thompson was one of the most controversial of all Chicago mayors, and that’s saying something. Big Bill was mayor from 1915-1923 and again from 1927-1931 and is remembered for a lot of things, including his relationship with Al Capone and his dedication to “America First.” This scarce 2 1/4 inch celluloid is from an early campaign for mayor. Excellent condition. A classic Chicago pin from Bob Rouse collection.
