A scarce Spanish-American War pin welcoming home the First Nebraska "Thurston Rifles" in 1899. John Mellen Thurston was a US senator from Nebraska so we assume the company was named for him. This 2 1/8 inch celluloid has a Whitehead and Hoag back paper and is in excellent condition.
