A rare George Washington item that dates from around his second term in office. This is a molded lead "portrait cent" that could be called a poor man's Washington medal since it was not made from a steel die. It is dated 1792 with Washington portrait. This is an excavated coin so it shows some wear but it is a very rare item. Once had a shank on back that is missing. Listed as GWI 29-A in Silverstein's Guide to Washington Inaugural Buttons.
