Harry Truman was a district court judge in Missouri when the photo for this iconic Truman political pin was snapped. This early Truman celluloid is a true classic. It’s a 4 inch celluloid made by Whitehead and Hoag that says “Very Truly Yours, Harry Truman” in script lettering at the bottom right. This pin has a light scuff on left side you will notice when you hold the pin at an angle in the light. Otherwise in really great shape. District court judges in Missouri served an administrative, not a judicial, role, kind of like county commissioners in other states. This spectacular and rare Truman pin is a magnificent, early Truman item. From the great John Burkhardt collection. He wants to sell the pin so he has authorized lowering the starting bid. This is quite a value.
