A rare, early Montana campaign pin featuring one of the giants of the early years of that state. Carter was a territorial delegate before becoming a congressman and U.S. senator (1895-1901 and 1905-1911) for Montana. He also was the first Roman Catholic to serve as chairman of the Republican National Committee. He even has a glacier and a mountain peak named for him at Glacier National Park. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid picturing Carter is missing pin on back, otherwise excellent.
