For a while, Theodore Roosevelt was running for president in 1916. The Progressive Party actually nominated TR for president with Louisiana businessman John Parker as his running mate. When TR announced he would not run, the party was absorbed back into the Republican Party. This rare 1 1/4 inch celluloid is a delegate pin from the 1916 Maine Progressive Party state convention. Whitehead and Hoag back paper, excellent condition. Pin has sold for over $1,000 twice previously. Note it is 1916!
