A pair of longhorn steers adorn this scarce celluloid pin from the 1928 Democratic National Convention in Houston – the first major party political convention held in the South since 1860. After the debacle of the 1924 convention, Democrats made sure to take care of business in a hurry in 1928, nominating Al Smith for president on the first ballot. This 1 inch pin with Bastian Brothers back paper has a few small surface cuts.
