The Scottsboro Boys trial became one of the most famous court cases in U.S. history. Nine young black men were charged with rape in Alabama in 1931. The initial trial found them all guilty and ended with eight of them being sentenced to death. The public outrage that followed led to more trials and made the case a landmark event in the fight for civil rights and justice. The United Front Defense, largely funded by the Communist Party, called on Negro and White Workers to unite to save the defendants. This rare 1 ¼ inch celluloid is from the Al Anderson collection, excellent condition.
