A rare campaign pin supporting Samuel Alschuler for governor of Illinois. Alschuler was a progressive Democrat who ran for governor in 1900, losing to Richard Yates. Alschuler was a friend of Peter Altgeld, an associate of Clarence Darrow and opposed the Chicago political bosses. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid is in excellent condition.
