The song “They Gotta Quit Kickin’ My Dawg Around” is usually associated with Champ Clark. This rare 1 1/4 inch celluloid, almost certainly from 1912 when Clark was considered the favorite to win the Democratic nomination, takes a different approach. It shows a very mean-looking bulldog with a “T.R” dogtag, saying “You bet they ain’t kickin’ my dawg around.” Pin has an A.E. Reeves of Kansas City back paper, is a rare Roosevelt item. Excellent.
